Monday, January 16th – Open Door Mission Website
(From the ODM website) Americans will once again honor the memory and message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through a national Day of Service, led by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
Dr. King once said, “Life’s most urgent and persistent question is: what are you doing for others?” He challenged us to build a more perfect union and taught us that everyone has a role to play in making America what it ought to be. We need citizens to help renew our nation through service – on the King Holiday, and throughout the year.
So make this a day ON, not a day off!
Meet us at the Timberlake Outreach Center at 2107 East Locust Street, Omaha NE 68110. Come in through the glass exit doors on the West side of the building.
Please be flexible to help complete high-impact projects that will benefit our neighbors experiencing homelessness and poverty.
Want other ways to get involved this year, visit the Share Omaha website for information. From helping at the Open Door Mission, to volunteering at our local Nebraska Humane Society to putting on your work gloves and showing up at a Habitat For Humanity jobsite. There are plenty of ways to help our community.
